A great drawing.
To me it reads as a choice of Aspen, to 'stay in the sun' or to make a darker choice. To follow this dark character tot a cabin in the woods. As if there was a childhood secret perhaps?

Hi, team Friends from Far Away!
First of all, I've found it interesting how Aspen's physical position implies his current dilemma between seeking after his friendship and following something better.
Also, his orientation towards the darker side of the woods while still placing his hands towards the sun seems to foreshadow that he will eventually learn to let go of his friendship (which seems to yield bad influence to him in near future), and follow a brighter future. I would love to find out why Skylar is distancing, and what the "better thing" would be :)

I love the setting and the sunset in the background! I also love the cabin peeking out in the darker part of the woods. It's great contrast! One thing I was confused about is the description in relation to the picture. Is the shadow-y figure in the background Aspen's friend? To me they look a little frightened, as if they're hiding from the shadow. I think making this clearer would make it a stronger piece!

Very interesting! I like the background a lot, one thing though.. I feel like her skin could use some shading since everything else has it she just looks a bit odd. But other than that I really like it, especially the sunset!
