I really like the shadow idea, cause it allows for a lot of creativity on what a shadow actually means in this alternate world. It makes me wonder what would cause someone to have a shadow, and how would that shadow differ from the shadows we know? Would it be a creature of its own, maybe? A representation of someone's inner darkness? I'm just rambling. I feel like the third idea, the polar opposites one, felt a little unclear to me as I can't really imagine it without knowing -how- the characters are so un-alike if that makes sense.

Really neat style. I found myself drawn to the shadow idea the most...I wonder why shadows don't exist and what it is about these people that make them cast shadows? could the shadows have unexpected benefits? This has the trappings of a classic superhero movie but in a very novel context.
